Eric Clapton's Gibson ES-335
Eric Clapton purchased his cherished Gibson 335 in 1964 and played it for over 40 years. He auctioned it off in June of 2004 to raise support for his Crossroads Centre charity. It was purchased by the Guitar Center for a stunning $847,000 USD! Over the next year Eric Clapton, Gibson, and Guitar Center worked on releasing a limited edition recreation of the guitar. You can watch the 55 minute documentary here. Truly an amazing process. I was so impressed to see the craftmanship put into creating a guitar like this. thats a fantastic clip - and of course a fantastic guitar. Shame Eric didn't use the reproduction (or the original) for the cream reunion shows

it is indeed sad that es 335 345 355 hasnt that much been appreciated anymore by big names eric clapton could have honored a great guitar and reissue which carries his name.This guitar has a soulful tone that no other guitar has.
